Here are the details for the hurling league final replay

An outcome neither Clare nor Waterford wanted has transpired.

EVEN EXTRA-TIME couldn’t separate Waterford and Clare in the hurling league final this afternoon.

A replay will decided who gets the league honours, an outcome that is surely the last thing either team wanted.

The replay, it’s been confirmed, between the two Munster sides will take place next Sunday in Semple Stadium, Thurles at 3.30pm.

Maurice Shanahan pulled the game out of the fire with a last-gasp long-range free to level matters at 0-22 apiece after extra-time and send it to a replay.

Clare were seconds away from a first top-flight title since 1978 after Colin Ryan’s 90th minute score.

The sides managed by Derek McGrath and Davy Fitzgerald will meet for a third time when they play in the Munster SHC on June 5.
