'He kicks like a donkey': When John Kavanagh met Chris Martin

The Coldplay singer called in to SBG in Dublin following the band’s gig in Croke Park.

COLDPLAY’S LEAD SINGER Chris Martin dropped in to Straight Blast Gym for a training session with head coach John Kavanaghwhile the band were in Ireland last weekend.

“He’s got heavy hands. The guy can hit. He has some of the worst uppercuts I’ve ever seen, but he has straight punches and he kicks like a donkey.”

Martin has been involved in martial arts for quite a while, and is a fan of both Kavanagh and Conor McGregor, and plans on going to McGregor’s fight against Floyd Mayweather next month.

Kavanagh told The42 about the experience, and how Martin showed glimpses of similar some of the top athletes that he has met.

Good training today with my boy Chris Martin @coldplay kicks like a donkey but needs bit of work on his uppercuts.
