Liverpool send young defender out on loan for fourth time in as many years

Andre Wisdom is on his way to Austria for the year.

LIVERPOOL HAVE AGREED to send defender Andre Wisdom on a season-long loan to RB Salzburg.

It will be the fourth temporary spell in as many campaigns for the 23-year-old, who was also courted by former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers in an attempt to beef up Celtic’s backline.

Wisdom inked a new four-year deal with the Anfield side last year, but has not been named in a competitive matchday squad for Liverpool since October 2013.

The former England Under-21 captain has made a total of 22 appearances in Liverpool colours, 14 of which have come in the Premier League.

He has spent the previous three seasons at Derby County, West Brom and Norwich City, taking the former to the brink of promotion before losing in the Championship play-off final in 2014.
