MANCHESTER UNITED TARGET Arturo Vidal appears to be slipping further and further from the Premier League club’s reach, with the Chilean midfielder having been included on Juventus’ pre-season tour.

The 27-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move to join Louis van Gaal’s squad this summer, although his Italian club have insisted that the midfielder is not on the market.

However, sources at Juventus have previously indicated that they would consider selling Vidal if he forcefully stated that he desired a transfer. In that regard, United’s hopes appear to have been dealt a blow by the latest photograph uploaded to the player’s Instagram account.

The image shows Vidal with his Juve teammates as they begin a two-week tour of Asia, with an accompanying caption of “I’m happy to stay here! #jakarta”.

While Andrea Pirlo and Carlos Tevez may not look too impressed in the background of Vidal’s selfie, the strong suggestion that he will be staying put in Turin this season will come as a major boost to ‘The Old Lady’.

Former Leverkusen and Colo Colo midfielder Vidal played a starring role as Juventus claimed their 30th Serie A title last season.

Man United have brought in Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw this summer, although it is believed that manager van Gaal would like to swell the quality and depth of his defensive ranks before the new Premier League campaign gets underway.
