First a sponsor, now horizontal stripes: Barcelona's iconic jersey set for another revamp

Reports in Spain suggest next year’s kit will be unique.

FOR THE FIRST time in their 115-year history, one of the most iconic jerseys in world sport is set to undergo a radical departure.

Catalan newspaper Sport revealed this morning that Barcelona’s famous vertical stripes are to flip 90 degrees and become horizontal for the first time.

This comes just two years after the club broke its long-standing history of not having a sponsor on the front of its jersey.
