First for Irish football as FAI to broadcast league game live on YouTube this weekend

Former Ireland international Stephen Elliot will be part of the coverage.

LEAGUE OF IRELAND fans will be able to watch the First Division clash between UCD and Limerick on Sunday evening, after the FAI announced the game would be streamed live on YouTube.

The Shannonsiders can clinch the league title with victory at the UCD Bowl and the game will also mark the first time a SSE Airtricity League fixture has been broadcast online.

The FAI, through their YouTube channel, have carried live broadcasts of the Continental Tyres Women’s National League throughout the season.

The show, which begins at 5.50pm ahead of a 6pm kick-off on Sunday, will be hosted by Kieran Crowley and former Ireland international Stephen Elliot.

Last year, the FAI announced a ‘groundbreaking media partnership’ which has seen every SSE Airtricity League game streamed live around the world.

However, the four-year deal with TRACKCHAMP only allows streams to be shown outside of Ireland due to broadcasting deals with RTÉ and Eir Sport.
