JAMEIS WINSTON THREW the winning touchdown with 13 seconds to play as Florida State completed a remarkable 34-31 comeback against Auburn in the BCS Championship Game.

FSU went into last night’s college football finale as heavy favourites but trailed 21-10 at half-time.

The drama went into overdrive with four touchdowns and 31 points in a frantic final quarter, capped by Winston’s game-winning drive and short pass to Kelvin Benjamin.

With a little more than four minutes on the clock, FSU took the lead through a 100-yard kick-off return by Levonte Whitfield but were pegged back again when Tre Mason ran in a go-ahead TD for Auburn.

It was Winston, the Heisman Trophy winner who faced sexual assault allegations earlier this season but was not charged, who had the final say in the last minute.

The 20-year-old quarterback led his Seminoles 80 yards down the pitch to clinch the Championship with a two-yard pass to Benjamin in front of more than 94,000 fans in Pasadena.
