Green Thumb/Red Thumb: It’s the week in comments

Your thoughts on Brian O’Driscoll, Davy Fitz and Transfer Deadline Day.

Our Deadline Day liveblog prompted plenty of reaction, but there were two comments that particularly stood out. Darragh presciently pointed out the likely hair-related friction that would ensue, following Fellaini’s move to United, while Rory McCreesh was amused by the recent moves involving Victor Moses and Jesús Navas.

Barry Aston left an appropriately wry response to our story about Paul McShane wrongly being described as a Barcelona player.

Jason Bourne (N.B. may not be a real name) left this acerbic comment on the story about
Kieran McGeeney having to step down as Kildare boss.

Spoiler alert, as Eoin O’Callaghan gives away the ending of the Alex Ferguson autobiography.

Phil O’Meara provides what was undoubtedly one of the more surreal responses to the big Brian O’Driscoll story this week.

One reader, in particular, came up with an interesting response to Andy Murray’s recent US Open loss.

And finally, Avril O’Connell believes Davy Fitz does not quite deserve his fearsome reputation.
