Open Thread: Who should win Hurler of the Year?

Let the debate begin…

NO SOONER HAD the final whistle crowned Limerick All-Ireland champions on Sunday evening and speculation started over who deserved to win Hurler of the Year.

Later that night, the seven Sunday Game pundits unanimously selected Padraic Mannion as their stand-out player from the All-Ireland SHC.

It was an outstanding team effort from Limerick all year but Graeme Mulcahy, Declan Hannon and Cian Lynch are believed to be best placed from the Treaty to take the honour, while Mannion’s team-mate Joe Canning could win it for a second successive season.

Outside of the All-Ireland finalists, an argument could be made for Clare’s John Conlon to claim the top award after an outstanding championship.
