Ill health sees Moran step down as Leitrim boss

Leitrim will begin the search for a new manager following the departure of Mickey Moran.

LEITRIM ARE ON the look out for a new senior football manager following confirmation that Mickey Moran has stepped down from his position.

A statement from the County Board stated that “due to health reasons” Moran “has had to stand down”, concluding by wishing him a speedy recovery.

The former intercounty star was in his fourth year with the O’Rourke County and previously managed his native Derry as well as Donegal, Sligo and Mayo.

Leitrim beat Sligo by a goal in this year’s Connacht Senior Championship, before being well beaten by Roscommon at the semi-final stage.
