Irish homeless team beats Romania 15-0 in first match of the tournament.

IRELAND OPENED THEIR Homeless World Cup campaign with a 15-0 thumping of Romania in Rio de Janeiro.

Ciaran Murphy led the scoring with five goals and Karl Jess, Jordan Murphy, Graham Tucker and Limerick’s Michael O’Connell all added to the goal tally.

Also in Ireland’s group are Canada, Mexico and Cambodia. Ireland play pre-tournament favourites Mexico next Monday in their next group match.
