WBA AND IBF World lightweight champion Katie Taylor is scheduled for a bout in Chicago on 6 October, Matchroom Boxing has announced.
The 32-year-old is set to take on Puerto Rican Cindy Serrano in what is described as a ‘world title-defence’ event, although she will be putting her belts on the line against American Kimberly Connor at London’s O2 Arena later this month.
The 36-year-old Serrano is the older sister of five-weight champion Amanda, who has been mentioned as a possible opponent for Taylor in previous reports.

Cindy is also the current holder of the WBO featherweight title according to Irish Boxing.com, meaning she will be moving up two weight divisions to compete against Taylor. She has a record of 27(10)-5(0).
Taylor’s fight against Connor will feature on the undercard of Dillian Whyte’s Sky Sports Box Office heavyweight clash with former WBO World champion Joshua Parker on 28 July.
The Bray native is expected to come through that bout before heading for Chicago in October.
