Galway SHC final: Loughrea 2-11 St Thomas 3-11

Good afternoon, folks. We have another mouthwatering set of club championship fixtures in store for you.

We’ll be keeping our good eye on what’s sure to be a cracker of an Ulster SFC semi between Tyrone’s Errigal Ciaran and Armagh’s Crossmaglen Rangers, but will also have the the latest news from Munster, Leinster and the Galway hurling final.

So here comes the throw in in the four non-Ulster games. Who is your money on?

It’s cold all over the country but in Galway, we’re told; it’s very cold and very wet.

But that hasn’t deterred St Thomas from making the best possible start. Murray with an early (scrappy sounding) goal.

Loughrea 0-00 St Thomas’ 1-00

MFC semi-final: Dr Crokes 0-02 0-01 Clonmel Commercials

It’s been a typically fluid start from the Kerry club, Colm Cooper tapping over their second score after five minutes. Buckley had given them the lead.

Clonmel have since pulled one back, but the home side in ominous form.

In Cork, the home side trail after 10 minutes.

Munster SFC semi-final: Castlehaven 0-01 Stradbally 0-02

Yes, as suspected. Clonmel Commercials have a mountain to climb.

Gooch has hit three of Crokes’ six scores.

Munster SFC semi-final: Dr. Crokes 0-06 Clonmel Commercials 0-01

Much tighter game in Leinster.

Leinster SHC semi-final: Kilcormac Killoughey 0-3 Rathdowney Errill 0-3

Throw-in: And what a start for Crossmaglen!

A sweeping move direct from the start brought a chance for Jamie Clarke. He cut inside to his left boot and blasted a shot off the underside of the cross-bar.

Errigal come close to opening the scoring at the other end, but promising stuff.

Cross’ next attack brings a free, pointed by Oisin McConville.

Ulster SFC semi-final: Crossmaglen Rangers 0-01 Errigal Ciaran 0-00

Galway SHC final: St Thomas 1-04 Loughrea 1-03

Johnny Maher has pulled a goal back for Loughrea.

Errigal have settled well since that blistering start from Rangers. Two frees from Darren Canavan has them in front.

Ulster SFC semi-final: Crossmaglen Rangers 0-01 Errigal Ciaran 0-02

Another goal: St. Thomas 2-05 Loughrea 1-03

Richard Murray gets his second goal of the day to put St Thomas in control approaching half time.

Meanwhile, in Clones, there is something approaching an exhibition of point-scoring from Errigal, but McConville keeps Rangers ticking over with a handy free after Clarke is fouled 20 yards out.

Ulster SFC: Crossmaglen Rangers 0-03 Errigal Ciaran 0-04

Half Time, Munster SFC semi-final: Castlehaven 0-1 Stradbally 0-6

Castlehaven will need all the home advantage going to turn this one around.

Half-Time, Galway SHC final: St. Thomas 2-06 Loughrea 1-04

GOAL! Crossmaglen 1-03 Errigal Ciaran 0-06

Jamie Clarke collects a pass from Kernan on the edge of the small, square. He’s wrapped up by a defender and goalkeepr, but manges to spin and wriggle free back onto his right to tap in.

22 minutes gone in Clones.

The other Ulster semi-final is off and running.

Kilcoo 0-02 St. Galls 0-01

HALF TIME: Crossmaglen Rangers 1-05 Errigal Ciaran 0-07

Cross forwards losing a little accuracy towards the end of the half. The Tyrone champions have no such worries; their clinical forwards have ensured they lead at the break in Clones.

The four other games are into the second half now and Dr Crokes have picked up where they left off at half time, with a Colm Cooper point.

They’ll play against a strong breeze in the second half.

Munster SFC semi-final: Dr Crokes 0- 11 Clonmel Commericals 0-03

Over in Cork, Castlehaven have gone the right way about reducing that five-point half time deficit.

Munster SFC semi-final: Castlehaven 0-02 Stradbally 0-06

Not quite so free-scoring in the Athletic grounds where Kilcoo still have the better of the three points scored.

After 20 minutes, the score is

Ulster SFC semi-final: Kilcoo 0-02 St Galls 0-01

No sign of St Thomas easing off the pedal with the line in sight.

Richie Murray with his, and his club’s, third goal of the game

Galway SHC final: Loughrea 1-07  St Thomas’ 3-10

Leinster SHC Semi Final : Rathdowney/Errill 0-13 Kilcormac Killoughey 1-6

45 minutes played.

As the action re-starts in Clones, our eye is drawn back down to Munster. Surely not two comebacks on the cards?

Munster SFC semi-final: Castlehaven 0-03 Stradbally 0-06

Munster SFC semi-final: Dr Crokes 0-12 Clonmel Commercials 0-05

Time running out.

HALF TIME, Ulster SFC semi-final: Kilcoo 0-03 St Galls 0-04

A tight and tense opening 20 minutes of this game, but things started to open up towards the end of the half as St Galls take the lead thanks to three points from Stewart.

It started tight, and the Leinster hurling semi looks like it will end tight. All square with just eight minutes to go.

Leinster SHC Semi Final : Rathdowney-Errill 0-13 Kilcormac Killoughey 1-10

GOAL!

A decsive moment as Kilcormac Kiloughey take a three-point lead through Peter Geraghty.

Leinster SHC Semi Final : Rathdowney/Errill 0-13 Kilcormac Killoughey 2-10

There’s life in Loughrea yet. Five minutes to go and Johnny Maher smashes home a penalty:

Galway SHC final: Loughrea 2-11 St Thomas’ 3-11

50 minutes gone in Clones and Crossmaglen have managed to stem the flow from Errigal. They now lead by that Clarke goal

Ulster SFC semi-final Crossmaglen Rangers 1-08 Errigal Ciaran 0-08

FULL TIME, Leinster SHC Semi Final : Rathdowney/Errill 0-14 Kilcormac Killoughey 2-12

Full Time, Munster SFC semi-final: Dr. Crokes 1-14 Clonmel Commercials 0-06

Full time, Munster SFC semi-final: Castlehaven 1-5 Stradbally 0-7

Castlehaven have done it. Five points down at half time, they produced a massive comeback in the second half to take their place alongside Crokes in the Munster final.

GOAL!

David McKenna dummies a shot, goes round the ‘keeper and blasts into the net. A vital goal for Rangers coming mere seconds after a goal-mouth scare at the other end.

Ulster SFC semi-final: Crossmaglen Rangers 2-9 Errigal Ciaran 0-10

FULL TIME;, Galway SHC Final: Loughrea 2-11 St Thomas’ 3-11

Despite the late rally, Loughrea could not complete the fight-back. The county final pain continues for them.

We’re into stoppage time in Clones and with Crossmaglen leading comfortably, Jamie Clarke is withdrawn.

A very controlled and impressive second half from Rangers. And with that…

FULL TIME, Ulster SFC semi-final: Crossmaglen Rangers 2-10 Errigal Ciaran 0-10

Now, over in our final game of the day; Antrim’s St Galls have taken a commanding lead over Down’s Kilcoo.

Just over 10 minutes for Conor Laverty and co to turn it around.

Ulster SFC semi-final: St Gall’s 0-8 Kilcoo 0-5

RED CARD:

That should seal it for St Galls. Niall McEvoy makes the long walk to the changing rooms in the Athletic Grounds.

Stop everything, GOAL!

Kilcoo tie the game up dramatically with a three-pointer from Sean Devlin.

Ulster SFC semi-final, Kilcoo 1-06 St Galls 0-9

Improbably, the red card has sent Kilcoo into overdrive.

They lead thanks to a Darragh O’Hanlon score which sends the crowd stone mad.

Ulster SFC semi-final: Kilcoo 1-07 St Galls 0-9

We’re into three minutes of injury time and it’s all square again.

Brace yourselves.

FULL TIME, Ulster SFC semi-final: Kilcoo 1-09 St Gall’s 0-10

Amazing conclusion in the Athletic Grounds, St Gall’s appeared to be in complete complete control until Kilcoo were reduced to 14 men. Trailing by three points with less than 10 minutes to go, they turned the game on it’s head with Sean Devlin’s goal.

There was still plenty to do from that point, but momentum was only tilted in one direction.

Wow. I think we all need a warm drink and a lie down after that.

Thanks for stopping by and checking in on today’s club action; notably, the power of Crossmaglen and the dramatic comebacks from Castlehaven and Kilcoo.

Safe home.
