Wexford unveil side for Leinster quarter-final against Louth

Manager Aidan O’Rourke has announced an unchanged team.

WEXFORD BOSS AIDAN O’Brien has unveiled his team to start against Louth in Sunday’s Leinster SFC quarter-final in Drogheda.

11 members of the side that started in Wexford’s last senior championship tie in the All-Ireland qualifiers last July when they lost out to Tipperary in Semple Stadium, are named to start on this occasion.

The four newcomers to the starting fifteen are right corner-back Michael Furlong, midfielder Rory Quinlivan, right half-forward James Holmes and centre-forward Ben Brosnan.

Robert Tierney, Shane Roche and Conor Carty are all on the bench having started in that defeat to the Premier county while Colm Morris is not involved.

WEXFORD: Anthony Masterson (Castletown); Michael Furlong (St Abban’s Adamstown), Graeme Molloy (St James), Lee Chin (Sarsfields); Brian Malone (Shelmaliers), David Murphy (St Mary’s Rosslare), Adrian Flynn (Gusserane); Daithi Waters (St Martin’s), Rory Quinlivan (Parnells); James Holmes (Castletown), Ben Brosnan (Bannow-Ballymitty), Aindreas Doyle (Parnells); Ciaran Lyng (St Martin’s), Redmond Barry (St Anne’s), PJ Banville (Horeswood).

Louth manage Aidan O’Rourke has named an unchanged side for the clash. The Wee County were hugely impressive victors by 1-16 to 1-6 in their opening round clash against Laois in O’Moore Park in Portlaoise.

And former Armagh senior O’Rourke has opted to keep faith with that starting fifteen for the clash with the Model County.

Throw-in at Drogheda on Sunday is timed for 3.30pm and the winners will face either Meath or Wicklow at the semi-final stage.

LOUTH: Neil Gallagher; Padraig Rath, Dessie Finnegan, John Bingham; John O’Brien, Derek Crilly, Adrian Reid; Paddy Keenan, Brian Donnelly; Andy McDonnell, Brian White, Conor Rafferty; Ciaran Byrne, Shane Lennon, Derek Maguire
