STOKE’S MARC WILSON is set for a spell on the sidelines, after the Irish international suffered a broken fibula during his side’s 0-0 draw with Sunderland yesterday.
Wilson, who impressed during Ireland’s recent 4-1 defeat of the Faroe Islands, now will miss their upcoming friendly against Greece, after his club confirmed the bad news.
Stoke manager Tony Pulis said they have yet to ascertain how long Wilson will be out for.
"Marc will be out for a while, but we are not sure at this stage for how long."
Meanwhile, following this news, Wilson tweeted: "Thanks again every1 for the support. Really appreciate it. Have broke my fibula. Hopefully I can make a speedy recovery."

Stoke boss Tony Pulis had previously said that a leg break would be "the worst case scenario".
"We’ve sent him for an X-ray as a precaution because Marc heard something when he went down, but a break is the worst case scenario."
Pulis also emphasised the innocuous nature of the challenge from Sunderland's Steven Fletcher, which led to the injury.
"I think [Marc] actually did it himself. I think his studs got caught in the ground," he explained.
Wilson has been in fine form for Stoke this season, starting all nine of their Premier League fixtures thus far.
