ALL-STAR MIDFIELDER Mattie Donnelly will likely miss Tyrone’s trip to face All-Ireland champions Dublin in Croke Park on Saturday night.
A concussion forced Donnelly to leave the action just 15 minutes into Tyrone’s opening day win over Roscommon, and Red Hand boss Mickey Harte admitted afterwards that the 26-year-old is a doubt for this weekend.
“He’s got a bit of concussion, and that’s a pity, he didn’t get to play much before that,” Harte said following Tyrone’s 0-18 to 1-9 victory in Omagh.
“It seemed innocuous enough at the time, I didn’t think it was as serious as that, but obviously the doctors know better and he had to take a break from it.
“Hopefully it won’t keep him out for too long but it is as it is and we have to possibly plan without him for next week.”
It’s the second time in the last seven months that Donnelly has suffered a concussion on the field.
He suffered a hit to the head while playing for his club Trillick last July, but recovered in time to start against Mayo in the All-Ireland quarter-final.
Meanwhile, Shane Enright was treated in hospital for concussion yesterday after Kerry’s victory over Donegal in Letterkenny.
Kerry defender Enright was stretchered off the field after an accidental collision with Michael Murphy just three minutes into the game.
