'I have the big houses, cars, robots bringing me coffee every morning'

McGregor pulled out the Rocky comparisons ahead of UFC 194.

CONOR McGREGOR IS enjoying the fruits of his labour but the UFC interim featherweight champion is adamant that he won’t get complacent.

Speaking on a media conference call ahead of his featherweight title unification bout against Jose Aldo at UFC 194 a week from Saturday, McGregor pulled out a Rocky comparison for the ages when he was asked about the challenge of dealing with being in the spotlight so often.

“It’s part of the game,” said the 27-year-old Dubliner. “Tonight, I’m heading to do the Jimmy Kimmel Show, then after that I head back to my gym to do some positional sparring. It’s business as usual. This is the life I’ve created and there’s no one better at this.

“Recently I watched Rocky 3. If you watch Rocky 3, at the start of it he has a mansion, seven cars and he’s got this robot that brings him coffee and stuff. He’s doing all these ads and talk shows, and he’s getting sloppy and lazy. Meanwhile, Clubber Lang is in a dark alleyway, sprinting, throwing shots, visualising.

“I kind of smiled when I was watching that because I’m like Rocky 3, in that I have the big houses, I have the cars, I have the robots bringing me coffee every morning.

“But then, at the same time, I’m also like Clubber Lang. I’m training like Clubber but I’m living like Rocky, so I think I have a perfect balance right now.”

McGregor added: “I’m living good and I’m training hard.”
