Meath champions Summerhill crash out, but Na Fianna march on

Wolfe Tones dethroned county champions Summerhill in Pairc Tailteann this evening.

SUMMERHILL ARE OUT of the Meath Senior Football Championship.

The defending champions were steamrolled by Wolfe Tones in the second half of their quarter-final in Pairc Tailteann this evening.

The sides were level at five points apiece at the break before second-half goals from Shane Glynn and Ciaran McLoughlin set Tones on the road to a 2-11 to 0-8 win.

Earlier, last year’s beaten county finalists Na Fianna booked their return to the final four with a three-point win over Simonstown in Trim.

Simonstown led by two points at the break thanks to a goal apiece from Padraig McKeever and Mark McCabe in the first half.

But Na Fianna continued to pick off their scores and held Simonstown to just four in the second half, winning by 1-15 to 2-9.
