'Mom, shut up!' This MMA star had an awkward moment during his UFC debut last night

Khalil Rountree later apologised for his put down.

KHALIL ROUNTREE DOESN’T like being given advice or encouragement during his fights — even if the person imparting this information is his mother.

Making his UFC debut last night, Rountree could be heard telling his mother to “shut up” in the middle of his bout with Andrew Sanchez.

After losing the fight with judges’ scores of 30-25, 30-25 and 30-26 all in Sanchez’s favour, the 26-year-old later apologised to his mother for his indiscretion, acknowledging he was lucky not to be more severely reprimanded for his behaviour.
