Murray pulls out of Swiss Indoors tournament

The US Open champions wants to rest a minor back injury ahead of a busy end-of-season schedule.

ANDY MURRAY HAS been forced to withdraw from the Swiss Indoors event, which begins on Monday, due to injury.

Murray has decided to rest his back ahead of a busy end-of-season schedule, having lost to Novak Djokovic in the final of the Shanghai Masters last week.

The Scot, who won the US Open, will play in the Paris Masters and the World Tour Finals in London at the end of October and the start of November respectively.

Roger Federer will defend his Swiss title and begins against France’s Jeremy Chardy on Monday.

The world number one has won the tournament in his home country in five of the last six seasons.

Djokovic also misses out so Juan Martin del Potro and Richard Gasquet are second and third seeds.
