Dowling leads Na Piarsaigh to Limerick SHC final where they face Kilmallock

Dowling bagged two goals for Na Piarsaigh while Kilmallock overcame a stern test by Doon in the other semi-final.

REIGNING LIMERICK AND Munster club champions Na Piarsaigh will take on Kilmallock in the Limerick SHC final.

Between them they’ve won each of the last four titles and the last time either Na Piarsaigh or Kilmallock haven’t featured in the final was 2008, when Adare beat Ahane.

They set-up an intriguing decider today, but in very different circumstances. Na Piarsaigh crushed Ahane by 4-20 to 0-8 in the second game in the Gaelic Grounds this evening as they bid to win a the championship for a third time in four years.

Shane Dowling and Adrian Breen bagged a brace of goals each as the city side ran out easy winners.

In the other semi-final,  Kilmallock left it late to edge past Doon by 0-18 to 0-16 in an entertaining encounter.

There was nothing to separate the sides for the majority of the game – they were level an incredible fourteen times throughout. Doon led by a point (0-16 to 0-15) heading into stoppage time before Kilmallock hit the last three scores of the game – including Eoin Ryan’s pointed penalty.

They will meet in the Gaelic Grounds on October 19th.
