In its latest hockey commercial, Nike gives a voice to those fans, allowing them to remind the NHL that hockey will go on, with or without them.
The NHL assumes that their core fanbase will be there no matter when the sport returns. But that fanbase is growing angrier by the day. And for a sport that already struggles against the other major North American sports leagues, the last thing they need is to tick off the one group on which they can usually depend.
