No hangover: Dubs insist they're ready to get going again

They’ve enjoyed their deserved and extended lap of honour with Sam, but Pat Gilroy’s side are ready to knuckle down.

BRYAN CULLEN INVITED the whole of the capital to Coppers in the wake of the Dubs’ dramatic All-Ireland SFC final victory over Kerry last September.

And the celebrations seem to have gone on since then.

Pat Gilroy’s side are now back in harness however after an exotic team holiday in the Cayman Islands. They blew off the cobwebs in the annual Dub Stars game at Tallaght on Sunday.

“Lads are really inching to get back out and pull on the jersey,” Michael Darragh Macauley told the Mirror’s Pat Nolan after the game.

“We were talking about it over the past few months. We had a bit of craic in the off-season, but we’re mad to get back and pull on the blue jersey.”

So, like a lot of us today – it’s back to the grindstone for the All-Ireland football champions. But Pat Gilroy’s side had a good run at it… including…
