IT’S EXACTLY SIX years since Arsenal’s signing of Alexis Sanchez.

On 10 July 2014, the Premier League club agreed to pay £35 million to secure the Chilean forward’s signature on a long-term deal.

The ex-Udinese star arrived in England having won La Liga, the Copa del Rey, the Fifa World Club Cup and the Uefa Super Cup in three years with Barca.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said of the player at the time: “Alexis will add power, creativity and much quality to our squad and we are all looking forward to him joining up with us in a few weeks.

“He has consistently produced top-quality performances at the highest level for a number of seasons now and we are all excited to see him integrate into the Arsenal squad.”

Sanchez would go on to score 80 goals in 166 games in all competitions for the North Londoners — winning two FA Cups and Arsenal’s Player of the Year award twice before departing for Manchester United in January 2018.

The 31-year-old has failed to live up to expectations and his astronomical wage packet at United, however, and is currently on loan at Inter Milan.
