THE CROWD STAYED away from the Aviva Stadium but this evening’s international friendly between Ireland and Georgia wasn’t completely meaningless for everyone.

Richard Keogh made his first start in green and marked the occasion with a goal, heading home James McClean’s inswinging free three minutes before the break.

Ireland now lead 2-0, the second coming through Simon Cox early in the second half.
