SAMIR NASRI HAS been hit with a three-match ban by the French Football Federation for his controversial behaviour during Euro 2012.

France teammate Jeremy Menez has also been suspended for one game over his own ill-discipline in Poland and Ukraine, but Hatem Ben Arfa and Yann M’Vila have escaped with warnings over their future conduct.

Manchester City attacking midfielder Nasri, the subject of ardent media criticism in the lead-up to the European Championships, sparked controversy when he shouted obscenities at the press box after scoring against England. The former Arsenal man was then involved in an angry exchange with a journalist after the quarter-final defeat by Spain, during which Nasri challenged the reporter to a fight.

Menez was disciplined after being found to have insulted the referee after the 2-0 defeat by Spain, before then confronting captain Hugo Lloris. Ben Arfa was involved in a dressing-room dispute with then-coach Laurent Blanc after defeat by Sweden, while M’Vila has also avoided sanction over his refusal to shake the hand of either replacement Olivier Giroud or Blanc following his substitution in the loss to Spain.
