Seanie Johnston granted transfer back to Cavan - reports

The Kildare forward has lodged a transfer request with his St Kevin’s club.

KILDARE FORWARD SEANIE Johnston is apparently one step closer to a return to his native club Cavan Gaels this morning, Kildare’s KFM reports.

Johnston was the subject of an inter-county controversy last year when he was eventually granted a transfer to St Kevin’s GAA club and fast-tracked into Kieran McGeeney’s Kildare squad.

However, having not yet made a senior championship start for the Lilywhites in two campaigns, reports emerged last month that Johnston is now ready for return transfer.

Last night, KFM tweeted confirmation that Johnston had lodged a transfer request with his Kildare club.
