SETANTA O’HAILPIN equaled an 85-year goalscoring record when he kicked nine goals as the Albury Tigers strolled to victory over Yarrawonga yesterday.
O’hAilpin brought his personal tally to 112 goals for the season and became only the second player in the league’s history to score nine goals in the grand final qualifier.
The former Cork hurler left AFL club Greater Western Sydney at the end of 2013 having been delisted by the Giants. He joined the Tigers, who compete in the regional Ovens & Murray League in New South Wales, along with his younger brother Aisake.
Albury secured their place in the grand final for a sixth straight year, having won the title in three of the past five seasons. The final will take place on the 21st of September.
