SPANISH CYCLIST Victor Cabedo was killed in a crash at training today.
The 23-year-old Euskaltel Euskadi rider, who took part in last week’s Tour of Britain, died after a collision with a motor vehicle north of Valencia, team spokesman Jesus Aizkorbe confirmed.
Aizkorbe labelled Cabedo as ‘a professional rider with a lot of promise, who was killed by means that could have been avoided’.
Details of the fatal accident have yet to be released. Cabedo, who joined Spanish team Euskaltel this season after previously representing UCI Continental, made his grand tour debut at the Giro d’Italia in May this year.
