FORMER REPUBLIC OF IRELAND international Steven Reid has signed a new one-year contract with West Brom.
Reid, 32, played just 12 games for the Baggies last season as injuries prevented him from holding down a first-team place.
He fell short of the number of appearances required to automatically trigger the second year of his contract but manager Steve Clarke was anxious to hang on to the defender as he closes in on 400 career appearances.
“I’m delighted Steven has committed himself to the club for another year,” Clarke said this morning.
“He’s a good pro, has bags of Premier League experience and is a great character to have both within the squad and around the training ground.
“If he has better luck with injuries, Steven will have a big part to play here in the new season.”
