Ulster confirm new contracts for five senior players
ULSTER HAVE TIED down five senior players on new contracts until at least 2030.
James Hume, Ethan McIlroy, Tom O’Toole, Jacob Stockdale and Nick Timoney have all signed extensions to help maintain continuity in head coach Richie Murphy’s squad.
Ulster general manager Rory Best hailed the deals, highlighting the positive impact the quintet have on the province’s culture.
“All five play an important role in our senior squad with their consistency in performance and experience.
“They are an integral part of our team, and I know all five are extremely ambitious in their goals for the future.”
“One thing that all these guys have shown – they are all remarkably resilient. Each of them has experienced ups and downs but have shown the mentality to bounce back and work hard.
“They are great ambassadors for Ulster Rugby and play with a commitment and passion that all of our supporters can resonate with.”
The five players in question have all progressed through Ulster’s academy and have made more than 650 senior appearances.
O’Toole, Stockdale and Timoney have been more prominent with Ireland over the 12 months due to their Ulster form, while Hume and McIlroy have overcome long-term knee injuries to return to the kind of form that warrants fresh terms.
