The Morning Score: Thursday

Here’s everything you need to know this morning – apart from where you left those keys again.

1. #HOOPS DREAMS Though there’s little on the line for Shamrock Rovers tonight, the Airtricity League champions face into an emotional night at Tallaght Stadium.

Michael O’Neill will be on the touchline for the last time, while a number of players will play the last game of their contracts.

And it’s Premier League heavyweights Tottenham Hotspur in the away dressingroom.

Spurs are three points and five goals worse off than Rubin Kazan and have sent just 15 players to Dublin, meaning Harry Redknapp will only have three outfield players on the bench.

Yesterday, O’Neill’s anticipated departure was confirmed. We’ll liveblog the action throughout this evening.

2. #PURPLE RAIN Ian Poulter -wearing purple shoes to match his purple outfit – has overshadowed world number one Luke Donald, as he’s taken the lead after the opening round of the 2011 JBWere Australian Masters.

3. #JOCKEY Jockey Kirsty Milczarek will appeal the British Horseracing Authority’s decision to find her guilty of race-fixing, she said yesterday.

The BHA was expected to release the findings from a long-running corruption inquiry yesterday afternoon but delayed the announcement without explanation at the last minute.

But Milczarek, who was informed of the decision, preempted the official statement, telling reporters at Lingfield that she would be lodging an immediate appeal to clear her name.

4. #ONCE A RED? Fernando Torres will not leave Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to the Independent, but for the first time doubts over the long-term Stamford Bridge future of the Spaniard have started to emerge.

Would you take him back Liverpool fans? Here’s six reasons a deal to bring him back to Anfield would work for everyone.

5. #BOXING Amir Khan says he’d would prefer his  mooted rematch with Lamont Peterson to be at a neutral venue rather than in Britain – and he fancies Vegas, baby.

Khan was beaten on a split decision on Saturday night after the referee deducted two penalty points.

6. #LONDON2012 Ryan Seaton and Matt McGovern became the latest Irish athletes to qualify for next summer’s Olympic games as they continued their strong showing at the ISAF World Sailing Championships this morning.
