Before Pellegrini took the hot seat, Betis finished in 10th position or lower in four of the five preceding seasons. Since the Chilean’s arrival, Los Verdiblancos have never finished outside the top seven.
Pellegrini generally operates a 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3 formation, with Colombian forward Cucho Hernandez featuring as the side’s main man up top last season. The attacker bagged 15 goals in 40 games across all competitions.
