Dare to dream: Aviva confirmed as semi-final venue if...

A final four clash at Lansdowne is still a big maybe, but Munster now know where they’ll have to go.

ULSTER AND MUNSTER today learned what the next step will be on the road to the Heineken Cup final.

The northern and southern provinces are both in European Cup action in London this weekend with Ulster facing Saracens at Twickenham and the Twickenham Stoop hosting Harlequins versus Munster.

Should Ulster manage beat Saracens they will, for the second year in succession, hold their semi-final in the Aviva Stadium, where this year’s final will also be held. A Saracens win will place the Premiership leaders back at the RFU’s headquarters for a semi-final against either Toulon or Leicester Tigers on April 28.

The other side of the draw will host its semi in Montpelier Stade de la Mosson, with or without the Mediterranean club.

To reach that venue Munster will need to upset Conor O’Shea’s ‘Quins this Sunday. If they do so, they will either face Clermont Auvergne or Montpelier themselves on Saturday April 27.
