'Words were exchanged' in nets before England-Pakistan ODI

Jonathan Trott and Wahab Riiaz involved in pre-match altercation at Lord’s.

TWO PLAYERS WERE involved in an altercation in nets before the England v Pakistan One Day International (ODI) today.

A spokesman for the England and Wales Cricket Board would only confirm that “words were exchanged” between the England batsman Jonathan Trott and Pakistan bowler Wahab Riaz in the nets at Lord’s.

Referee Jeff Crowe spoke to both players after the incident was brought to his attention. Riaz was one of the Pakistani players interviewd last week over allegations of spot fixing.

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman said this morning on Indian TV that he thinks England purposely lost their third ODI last Friday, bringing relations between the two teams to melting point.
