Match of the Day pair Lineker and Shearer among the BBC's top earners

A full list of salaries has been published today.

EX-ENGLAND FOOTBALLERS Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer both feature among the BBC’s highest-earners.

The broadcaster published a list of its top salaries for the first time as part of its annual report today, and it was revealed that Radio 2 presenter Chris Evans leads the way on £2,249,999-a-year.

Just behind Evans is former Tottenham and Barcelona striker Lineker, who presents weekly Premier League highlights show Match of the Day as well as other sporting coverage including the FA Cup, international football and the Olympics.

The 56-year-old’s salary has increased from £1,750,000 to £1,799,999 since last year.

Shearer, meanwhile, who is a regular football pundit on the Beeb, has gone from £400,000 to £449,999 in the past 12 months.

Wimbledon and A Question of Sport presenter Sue Barker (£300,000-349,999) also comes in relatively high on the list, while fellow sports presenters Jason Mohammed  (£250,000-£299,999), Dan Walker, Gabby Logan, John Inverdale (all £200,000-£249,999) and Clare Balding (£150,000-£199,999) are further down respectively.
