THE FIRST OF the Champions Cup semi-finals is taking place in Saint-Étienne as European heavyweights Clermont face Saracens at the Stade Geoffrey-Guichard.

It appeared Chris Ashton’s try-saving tackle on Napolioni Nalaga was legitimate as the Fiji winger was knocked into touch with the line at his mercy.
However, the replays showed that Ashton committed a no arms tackle and despite referee George Clancy going upstairs, the Television Match Official failed to spot the offence.
It should have been a penalty try and a yellow card. Instead, Saracens hold the narrowest of leads at half-time.
