Welcome along to a cold Croke Park as the 2014 Allianz football league gets set to commence. It’s Dublin against Kerry.

Throw-in at 7pm, both sides already out on the pitch. Kerry afforded All-Ireland champions Dublin a guard of honour as they came out on to the pitch.

Kerry 0-2 Dublin 0-0: 6 mins – Kerry’s lead is doubled as Barry John Keane taps over a free after Stephen O’Brien was fouled by Sean George.

Dublin 1-0 Kerry 0-2: 10 mins – Kevin McManamon maintains his habit of scoring goals against Kerry in Croke Park but this effort is all about the creative work of Cormac Costello. The young attacker races clear and hand passes across to McManamon, who has the simple task of palming the ball to the net.

And nearly a second goal for McManamon when he swivels but Brendan Kealy does well to block his left-foot shot.

Dublin 1-0 Kerry 0-3: 13 mins – Level game now after David Moran knocks over a ’45 for Kerry.

Kerry 0-4 Dublin 1-0: 14 mins – Barry John Keane lofts over a great right-foot shot for Kerry after being picked out in space.

Kerry 0-5 Dublin 1-0: 17 mins – Barry John Keane slots over a free for Kerry.

Kerry 1-5 Dublin 1-0: 17 mins – James O’Donoghue notches a cracking goal for Kerry. He broke clear and struck a really powerful shot to the net.

Great goal chance for Kerry again as they cut apart the Dublin defence but James O’Donoghue fails in his attempt to place the ball into the top corner as it shaves the outside of the post.

Kerry 1-5 Dublin 1-1: 23 mins – The Hill are in full voice as Kevin McManamon knocks over a lovely point off his left for Dublin.

Kerry 1-5 Dublin 1-3: 27 mins – Just the minimum between the teams now with Cormac Costello scoring a free and then Shane Carthy points from play. Better play from Dublin.

Goal for Dublin from Eoghan O’Gara!

Dublin 2-3 Kerry 1-5: 30 mins – Poor kick out by Kerry’s Brendan Kealy and Dublin make them pay. Ciaran Reddin pumps in the ball to O’Gara who escapes from Mark Griffin and slides the ball to the net past Kealy.

Nearly a third Dublin goal but McManamon’s shot is touched onto the post by Kealy.

Plenty goals so far and entertainment for the crowd as we near half-time.

Dublin 2-3 Kerry 1-6: 32 mins – It looked a soft enough free awarded against Dublin’s Sean George but Kerry aren’t complaining as Barry John Keane converts the free.

Dublin are finding holes in this Kerry defence and create another clear goal chance. It’s O’Gara who breaks clear and his shot across the goal goes just past the far post.

Kerry 1-7 Dublin 2-3: 35 mins – Quality foot passing from Kerry sees the ball move from Jack Sherwood to Brian McGuire to Anthony Maher and finally to James O’Donoghue, who slots the point.
