3 mins: Limerick 0-1 Clare 0-1

Tony Kelly gets a point from his first possession to even things up on the scoreboard.

5 mins: Limerick 0-1 Clare 0-1

Seán Finn tries to release a clearance, but his effort ends up over the sideline. Peter Duggan cuts it into the corner towards Kelly but the ball rolls past him.

Dan Morrissey then tries a pass across to Nickie Quaid, but he too sends the ball out over the sideline.

6 mins: Limerick 0-1 Clare 0-1

Duggan goes for it, but his shot is wide. Limerick get moving again, and the ball comes to Shane O’Brien, but his shot is off target too.

Limerick win the Clare puckout and put Peter Casey into space for a routine shot over the bar. Limerick lead again.

8 mins: Limerick 0-3 Clare 0-1

Tony Kelly takes a sideline cut which is intercepted by Will O’Donoghue.

O’Brien wins the ball at the other end and sprints across to get into space and pop his shot over.

9 mins: Limerick 0-3 Clare 0-1

Another sideline for Clare and Duggan comes across to take. His first hit is blocked, and although he gets his hands on the ball again, he drives it wide.

9 mins: Limerick 0-3 Clare 0-2

Ryan Taylor reduces the gap to one with a lovely strike. It’s evenly poised in the first 10 minutes.

10 mins: Limerick 0-3 Clare 0-3

Kelly gets the equaliser after winning the ball ahead of Barry Nash and burning past his marker to tee up the shot.

All square in Croker.

12 mins: Limerick 0-3 Clare 0-4

Duggan from way down with a super strike. It all came from a hook by Diarmuid Ryan and Duggan fired it over to edge Clare ahead.

That’s three points in a row from the Banner.

13 mins: Limerick 0-4 Clare 0-4

Mark Rodgers does really well to attack the Limerick defence and create a wide angle for the shot. But it’s a poor wide, and Aaron Gillane punishes Clare with a point.

14 mins: Limerick 0-4 Clare 0-6

Clare secure possession from a nervy puckout. Seán Rynne feeds Ryan Taylor, and it’s a super point before Cathal Malone adds another fine effort to put two between the teams.

16 mins: Limerick 0-4 Clare 0-7

A long ball in finds the paw of Shane O’Donnell and just as he’s getting ready to plot his next move, the referee blows the whistle for a foul on Barry Nash.

But Clare don’t have long to wait for another score as Kelly throws over his third of the half.

What a start for Brian Lohan’s side.

17 mins: Limerick 0-4 Clare 0-8

What a hook by Darragh Lohan on Adam English. Such a crucial intervention as Clare work the ball down and O’Donnell compliments the work with a point. The difference goes out to four.

18 mins: Limerick 0-5 Clare 0-8

Aidan O’Connor points from a free and that’s an important response from Limerick after that scoring burst from Clare.

19 mins: Limerick 0-6 Clare 0-8

Super point from Hayes who runs straight down the centre before putting over a second point in a row for Limerick to cut the gap to two.

21 mins: Limerick 0-6 Clare 0-9

The Clare roar goes up as Lohan reads a dummy from Hayes, turns the ball over and as he tries to head off, Hayes commits the foul.

Lohan gets up quickly to rise the crowd even more and Mark Rodgers converts the free from near the sideline.

23 mins: Limerick 0-7 Clare 0-9

Nice bit of ground hurling from Nash to push the ball away from an incoming Clare opponent and strikes on the run.

Hayes then tries to leave the minimum between the teams with a shot from a wide angle, but it’s wide.

24 mins: Limerick 0-7 Clare 0-10

Duggan with a brilliant point from a tight angle. There’s a few boos after the score as the Limerick fans feel their man Dan Morrissey was fouled, but the score stands and Clare continue to control this game as we edge towards the half-hour mark.

26 mins: Limerick 0-7 Clare 0-11

Another Clare free from just inside the sideline around midfield but Rodgers makes it look easy and now Clare lead by four.

28 mins: Limerick 0-8 Clare 0-12

O’Connor stands over a Limerick free from a tricky position but comfortably knocks it over.

Clare respond from the next attack as Rodgers gets his first point from play.

30 mins: Limerick 0-9 Clare 0-13

O’Connor with a free before Duggan uses all of his imposing strength to shake off the challenges and swing the ball over to keep that four-point difference.

Seán Rynne then has a point attempt assessed by Hawk Eye, and it’s a Níl.

32 mins: Limerick 0-9 Clare 0-14

Darragh O’Donovan registers Limerick’s sixth wide of the game with a huge shot from out the field.

And Kelly is firing at the other end with his fourth of the half after Clare win the breaking ball from the puckout.

Gillane hits a wide for Limerick, and he is yet to really get into this game.

34 mins: Limerick 0-9 Clare 0-15

Kelly receives a yellow card, and he is quite animated about that decision. But he then wins a free for a chop down by Cathal O’Neill. It’s from an easy position, and it’s no trouble for Rodgers.

Limerick are in a concerning position here as half-time looms.

34 mins: Limerick 0-9 Clare 0-16

Another Clare free as Nash is adjudged to have fouled O’Donnell. It’s another tap-over for Rodgers and Clare are bossing this game.

Two minutes of added time to go.

34 mins: Limerick 0-11 Clare 0-16

Massive point from Adam English to leave six between the teams. And Limerick win the puckout as O’Brien is half blocked down. Gillane doesn’t get to the loose ball but a clearance comes to Cathal O’Neill who drills the ball over.

Half-Time! Limerick 0-11 Clare 0-16

Limerick 0-11 Clare 0-16

What a first half from Clare?!

They are obliterating that underdog tag with ferocious display so far. Kelly, O’Donnell and Duggan are really lording the skies.

Limerick look loose and a bit off the pace, but they have produced second-half surges in the past.

What will the second half bring?

Second Half: Limerick 0-11 Clare 0-16

36 mins: Limerick 0-11 Clare 0-16

O’Connor notches an eighth wide for Limerick at the start of the second half. They’ve been quite wasteful in front of the posts.

They win a free from the puckout as Diarmaid Byrnes tries one from distance, but he also sends it off target.

37 mins: Limerick 0-11 Clare 0-16

O’Donovan pops the ball to Byrnes who launches it down to O’Brien. But he is penalised for overcarrying while under pressure from Lohan.

Limerick are certainly off colour today.

38 mins: Limerick 0-12 Clare 0-16

O’Donnell tries to extend Clare’s advantage, but it’s wide. Cathal O’Neill scores from the puckout and that could be crucial.

40 mins: Limerick 0-13 Clare 0-16

Gillane gets dispossessed as David McInerney and Taylor combine to feed the ball to O’Donnell. He goes for the shot and Hawk Eye is called in to rule it out.

Limerick win a free for a foul by Conor Cleary in a great position for O’Connor. He nails it and now the Limerick fans are making their voices heard.

Just three between them

42 mins: Limerick 0-14 Clare 0-16

Gillane does well to secure possession from a cross-field pass. He pops it to O’Donovan, but he’s muscled off the ball.

Limerick get the ball back though and send it out to Byrnes for another monstrous shot, and it’s a brilliant score.

Now it’s Clare’s turn to muster a response.

45 mins: Limerick 0-15 Clare 0-16

Gearóid Hegarty with a brilliant catch and he wins a free off Cleary. Hegarty is furious that Cleary is not being penalised for persistent fouling, but they have the free anyway and O’Connor puts it over.

Just one point between the teams. Clare haven’t scored since the start of the second half.

46 mins: Limerick 0-15 Clare 0-16

Kelly tries to get a badly needed score for Clare, but his shot from midfield is wide.

Clare change: Conor Cleary is replaced by Cian Galvin. No shock there as Cleary was on a yellow and Clare had to make a switch.

47 mins: Limerick 0-15 Clare 0-17

Limerick are penalised for throwing the ball and Rodgers gets their first point of the second half. They really needed that.

48 mins: Limerick 0-15 Clare 0-17

Limerick change: David Reidy comes in for Darragh O’Donovan.

Clare change: Diarmuid Stritch on for John Conlon.

50 mins: Limerick 0-15 Clare 0-18

Stritch fails to get the ball in hand. Limerick counter quickly and put in the corner for Gillane but the ball goes out over the endline.

And Kelly gets on a loose ball to put Clare three clear.

51 mins: Limerick 0-16 Clare 0-18

Brilliant fetch from Hegarty to grab the puckout. He hands it off to Casey who taps it over. Two between them.

Limerick change: Tom Morrissey comes in for Gillane.

53 mins: Limerick 0-16 Clare 0-18

Morrissey tries to make an instant impact as he gets the ball in plenty of space. But his shot is wide.

Clare then get a free for a foul on Stritch. This should be another point for Rodgers.

53 mins: Limerick 0-16 Clare 0-19

And Rodgers delivers to keep Clare’s noses in front. Limerick target Hegarty again for the puckout, but Clare win it.

55 mins: Limerick 0-16 Clare 0-19

CLARE PENALTY!!!

Duggan wins a long ball in. He tries to scoop it past Nickie Quaid and gets fouled. The ball ends up in the net, but it looks like this will be a penalty.

The referee is talking to his umpires.

55 mins: Limerick 0-16 Clare 0-19

Yellow card for Quaid!

And now for the penalty. Kelly will take it.

GOAL! Limerick 0-16 Clare 1-19 (Tony Kelly Penalty)

59 mins: Limerick 0-17 Clare 1-19

O’Connor with a free to reduce the gap to five.

But what about that Tony Kelly penalty? He absolutely smashed it.

62 mins: Limerick 0-18 Clare 1-19

Limerick change in the 57th minute: Cian Lynch comes on for O’Neill.

Meanwhile, Clare had another goal chance there when Duggan popped the ball through for Kelly. He pulled it along the ground but didn’t connect properly and Quaid got down to make the save.

63 mins: Limerick 0-18 Clare 1-19

Clare changes: Ian Galvin comes in for Rodgers. David Fitzgerald in for Rynne.

Limerick change: Mike Casey replaces Dan Morrissey.

64 mins: Limerick 0-19 Clare 1-19

Byrnes slots a free to cut the gap down to three. We’re in for a massive finish here.

66 mins: Limerick 0-19 Clare 1-19

Diarmuid Ryan tries one from distance for Clare, but it’s a wide.

Hegarty, who has been sublime today, wins another free for Limerick, and we could be looking at a two-point game here.

66 mins: Limerick 0-19 Clare 1-19

AND IT’S WIDE!

Not like Byrnes but it’s a wide. And that could be a huge moment.

67 mins: Limerick 0-19 Clare 1-19

Frantic few moments there.

A loose pass across the Clare defence almost ends in an interception for Limerick. Clare will be relieved to see the referee award a free out.

68 mins: Limerick 0-19 Clare 1-19

O’Brien wins a free off Daragh Lohan. Limerick will have another chance to make it a two-point game.

Clare change: David Reidy gets a huge cheer as he comes on for Stritch, who needs treatment.

69 mins: Limerick 0-20 Clare 1-19

O’Connor puts it over. And there’s just two between them now.

GOAL! Limerick 1-20 Clare 1-19 (Aidan O’Connor ’70)

71 mins: Limerick 1-20 Clare 1-19

Limerick lead!

And it comes from a well-taken goal by Aidan O’Connor who was ready to receive a gorgeous pass from Adam English. What a comeback after conceding that penalty.

Five minutes of added time have been announced.

73 mins: Limerick 1-20 Clare 1-19

Both sides exchange wides as Limerick earn another free through David Reidy.

74 mins: Limerick 1-21 Clare 1-19

O’Connor obliges and Limerick lead by two.

Limerick change: Fintan Fitzgerald on for Peter Casey.

75 mins: Limerick 1-21 Clare 1-19

Clare had a goal chance that almost snuck under Quaid’s feet. They have one more chance from a sideline.

Full-Time! Limerick 1-21 Clare 1-19

Limerick 1-21 Clare 1-19

Superb from Limerick.

After falling into a six-point deficit when they conceded that penalty which Tony Kelly converted. But they rallied and chipped away with the frees. Aidan O’Connor’s goal then was such a pivotal moment.

And so, it will be Limerick v Galway in the 2026 All-Ireland final. We all remember what happened when they last contested the decider in 2018.
