IRELAND’S NICHOLAS QUINN has qualified for this summer’s Olympic Games after achieving the qualifying time in Eindhoven last night.

The Castlebar native swam an impressive 2:11.24 in the 200m breaststroke, which was half a second under the International Swimming Federation’s Olympic A time.

He will join Fiona Doyle, Shane Ryan and diver Oliver Dingley in Rio after claiming gold at the 2016 Eindhoven Swim Cup on Sunday evening.

The 22-year-old, who trains at the University of Edinburgh, also achieved a personal best and broke the previous meet record.
