WE’VE REACHED FIGHT week for UFC 205, which sees Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez go toe-to-toe for the lightweight belt in a historic main event at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.

And the first installment of the Embedded series has just dropped, with the final preparations of both fighters featuring prominently.

“This guy is so offensive-minded and never on the defensive that whenever you put him on the defence he gets so flustered and so upset,” says the current lightweight champion, who believes he has the upper-hand in the mental warfare.

“At a certain point in our conference call, he started to get desperate. He started talking about my wife and kids and things like that. For me, it’s a sign of desperation.

You don’t talk about another man’s family unless you’re through the roof pissed off.

“If we were in a fight, and I was putting him on the defence, I looked at that like this man is just closing his eyes now and throwing bolos.

“Just to see him cross that, it’s good… it’s a good sign for me. He’s already on tilt, and we didn’t even get into the cage yet.”
