Club Call: Dublin, Tipperary and Cork championship draws

The path to glory this year is being mapped out for clubs in Dublin, Tipperary and Cork.

2009 DUBLIN SENIOR football champions Ballyboden St-Enda’s will face Naomh Mearnóg in the third round of this season’s competition. The draw for that stage also sees St Judes, beaten finalists three years ago, facing Lucan Sarsfields.

The winners of the eight third round ties will advance to the fourth round where Kilmacud Crokes, reigning champions St Brigid’s, last year’s beaten finalists St Oliver Plunkett’s-Eoghan Ruadh, Ballymun Kickhams, St Vincent’s, Templeogue-Synge Street, Na Fianna and UCD have already secured their berths.

DUBLIN SFC Third Round Draw: St Mary’s (Saggart) v St Pat’s (Palmerstown); Thomas Davis v Skerries Harps; St Judes v Lucan Sarsfields; Ballyboden St-Enda’s v Naomh Mearnóg; St Maur’s v Trinity Gaels; St Sylvester’s v Raheny; Parnells v Whitehall Colmcille’s; St Peregrine’s v Erins Isle.

The draw for the relegation phase of the Dublin senior championship has also been made.

DUBLIN SFC Relegation Play-Off: Ballinteer St John’s v Clontarf; Round Towers v St Anne’s; St Mark’s v Fingal Ravens; O’Toole’s a bye.

Meanwhile the draw for the second round of the Tipperary senior hurling championship was made last night with the eight beaten divisional semi-finalists set to now enter this stage of the competition where they will face off against the eight winners from the first round of the county championship.

TIPPERARY SHC Second Round Draw: Killenaule v Kildangan; Éire Óg Nenagh v Burgess; Ballingarry v Lorrha-Dorrha; JK Brackens v Templederry Kenyons; Loser of Drom-Inch/Loughmore-Castleiney v Moneygall; Loser of Cashel King Cormacs/Éire Óg Annacarty v Roscrea; Loser of Cappawhite/Clonoulty-Rossmore v Borrisokane; Winner of Kilruane McDonagh’s/Knockavilla Kickhams v Borrisoleigh.

Finally the draws will be made later tonight for the fourth round of the Cork county senior, premier intermediate and intermediate hurling and football championships.
