Cork and Tipperary ring changes ahead of Munster U21 final

The sides meet tomorrow night in the decider in Semple Stadium.

BOTH CORK AND Tipperary have changed their starting sides for tomorrow’s Cadbury’s Munster U21 football final.

Cork boss John Cleary has made one change in personnel with Sean Kiely named at wing-forward.

Kiely kicked the match-winning point in the quarter-final win over Kerry last month when introduced as a substitute.

His inclusion sees John O’Rourke move to midfield and Tom Clancy switch to corner-back with Brian O’Driscoll the player to lose out.

CORK: David Hanrahan (Douglas); Tom Clancy (Clonakilty), Conor Dorman (Bishopstown), Alan Cronin (Nemo Rangers); TJ Brosnan (Newmarket), Damien Cahalane (Castlehaven), Jamie Wall (Kilbrittain); John O’Rourke (Carbery Rangers), Ian Maguire (St Finbarr’s); Alan Cadogan (Douglas), Mark Sugrue (Bandon), Sean Kiely (Ballincollig); Dan McEoin (Ilen Rovers), Brian Hurley (Castlehaven), Luke Connolly (Nemo Rangers).

Tipperary manager David Power has made two changes for the game from their semi-final win over Clare.

Goalkeeper Evan Comerford is no longer involved with the squad as it is understood his soccer commitments became an issue in the build-up to the match while centre-forward Liam Treacy also misses out.

Philip Quirke is not named to start after being hampered by injuries lately while full-forward Michael Quinlivan is selected despite picking up an injury for the county senior side in last Sunday’s Division 4 league game against Offaly.

Into the Tipperary come Gearoid Slattery in goal and Darragh Kearney, who was ruled out through illness for the last game, at full-back.

Positional changes see Niall O’Sullivan go to corner-back, Paddy Dalton move to wing-back, Dylan Fitzell switch to midfield and Ian Fahey will play at centre-forward.

TIPPERARY: Gearoid Slattery (Cashel King Cormacs); Niall O’Sullivan (Moycarkey/Borris), Darragh Kearney (Clonmel Óg), Conor O’Sullivan (Galtee Rovers); Niall O’Meara (Kilruane McDonaghs), Seamus Kennedy (Clonmel Commercials), Paddy Dalton (Arravale Rovers); Steven O’Brien (Ballina), Dylan Fitzell (Cashel King Cormacs); Bill Maher (Kilsheelan-Kilcash), Ian Fahey (Clonmel Commercials), Donagh Leahy (Arravale Rovers); Liam McGrath (Loughmore-Castleiney), Michael Quinlivan (Clonmel Commercials), Shane Leahy (Arravale Rovers).

Tomorrow’s match has a throw-in time of 7.30pm at Semple Stadium in Thurles.
