THE FAI HAVE confirmed they are aware of allegations of racial abuse during the Shamrock Rovers-Glenville match on Friday and will move to investigate the matter further.

Rovers player Graham Burke is understood to have been the recipient of the alleged abuse from a Glenville player during his side’s 1-0 win in the FAI Cup first-round game on Friday.

A spokesperson for the association told The42 that they would be investigating the matter further.

If found guilty, the accused player likely faces a lengthy suspension.
