Cork 1-20 Galway 1-17 Yesterday’s game at Pairc Uí Chaoimh was a must-win for the Rebels if they wanted to stay in the Division 1 race. Denis Walsh’s men took a six-point lead into the break and battled to preserve it throughout the second half, with fine performances from Pat Horgan and Cian O’Sullivan proving to be the difference in the end.
Dublin 2-23 Offaly 1-13 The Dubs were quick out of the traps in Tullamore yesterday, racing into a 12-point lead at half-time as they sought to preserve their unbeaten start to the league campaign. Offaly forward Shane Dooley required extensive treatment in the game’s dying stages after a nasty clash with Dublin corner-back Peter Kelly left his ear “hanging off” according to Dooley’s manager (and father), Joe.
Tipperary 1-20 Waterford 0-18 Thirteen-man Waterford battled bravely against Tipp at Semple Stadium on Saturday evening before falling to a five-point defeat. Shane O’Sullivan and goalkeeper Clinton Hennessy were dismissed early in the second half for the Deise, while Pa Bourke and Noel McGrath impressed for the All-Ireland Champions.
Kilkenny 2-16 Wexford 0-17 Wexford fell to a third successive defeat at Nowlan Park but Colm Bonnar can take heart from the fact that his side outscored the Cats by 0-11 to 0-7 in the second half.

Clare 1-27 Westmeath 2-17 Westmeath are still waiting for a first league victory after losing to Clare by seven points yesterday. Clare forward Colin Ryan scored 0-5 from play and 0-4 from dead balls as he turned in a man-of-the-match performance.
Carlow 2-17 Kerry 1-12 Despite being reduced to 13 men midway through the second half, Carlow completely outclassed Kerry during the second period at Dr Cullen Park, outscoring them by nine points to claim a comprehensive victory.
Limerick 1-25 Down 2-11 A late period of dominance saw divisional leaders Limerick over the line yesterday. They scored 1-9 to Down’s 0-01 in the final 12 minutes to run out winners by 10 points.
Laois 0-20 Antrim 0-16 Antrim’s Neil McManus scored 13 points yesterday but still ended up on the losing side as Laois consolidated their promotion prospects with a four-point victory.

Kildare 1-16 Armagh 0-12 The Lilywhites picked up their first win of the campaign with a seven-point victory over Armagh at the Athletic Grounds yesterday.
Wicklow 1-15 London 1-14 Wicklow outscored London by 0-08 to no score in the final third of yesterday’s game at Ruislip, making it three wins out of three for the Garden County.
Derry 0-15 Meath 0-14 A late point from Paddy Henry gave league leaders Derry a single-point victory over Meath at Davitt Park.

Roscommon 1-19 Sligo 1-10 Roscommon kept their promotion dream alive in Athleague yesterday, condemning Sligo to a second successive defeat.
Donegal 3-12 Monaghan 1-14 Donegal finally got their league campaign off the mark at the third time of asking, with goals from Niall Campbell, Eugene Organ and Ciaran Matthewsen helping them to a four-point win over Monaghan.
Louth 1-14 Fingal 0-14 Another emphatic display from Gerard Smith yielded eight points from frees, helping league leaders Louth to a three-point win over Fingal in Swords.

Tyrone 4-23 Cavan 1-6 A Rory O’Neill hat-trick helped Tyrone to a massive 26-point win over Cavan at Breffni Park yesterday.
South Down 4-13 Fermanagh 2-11 Two late goals for Fermanagh proved to be little more than consolation as they fell to an eight-point defeat against South Down yesterday. Eoin McGuinness led the way for the victors, finishing with an impressive tally of 2-3.
Longford 2-15 Leitrim 3-8 Ten points from Man of the Match Eoin Donnellan helped Longford to a four-point win over fellow strugglers Leitrim.

Derry 2-12 Tyrone 2-11 A massive second-half total of 2-9 was not enough to allow Tyrone to recover from a sluggish first half as Derry hung on for a single-point victory in Saturday night’s McKenna Cup final.
