A DAY AFTER the IRFU confirmed Jamie Heaslip had fractured three vertebrae as a result of a knee to his back during Saturday’s Six Nations clash between Ireland and France, the number eight appeared to draw a line under the issue by accepting Pascal Papé’s apology.
Papé has been cited for the incident and took to Twitter this evening to say that he was:
“Truly sorry for hurting Jamie Heaslip in the course of the game, there was no intention to hurt him at all.”
For his part, Heaslip was quite philosophical suggesting that these things happen during the course of what is a physical game and accepted the Frenchman’s apology.
However, if the France lock is found guilty of a deliberate offence, he faces a suspension ranging from four weeks right up to 104 weeks.
