Crossmaglen 2-11 Burren 0-10 CROSSMAGLEN COMFORTABLY CONTINUED the defence of their All-Ireland crown yesterday, easing to a seven-point win over Burren in Armagh’s Athletic Grounds.
The champions laid down an early marker and raced into an 0-05 to 0-00 lead even before Burren contributed to their own undoing, midfielder Anton McCardle red carded for an off-the-ball incident inside the opening quarter.
Cross veteran Oisin McConville stretched his side’s lead with a well-taken goal on 20 minutes.

But the Armagh club were wasteful with their shooting and failed to kill the game off, allowing Burren to narrow the gap to just three points in the second half before Martin Aherne capped the victory with a second goal late on.
Oulart-the-Ballagh 1-11 Coolderry 1-15 There’s a new name on the Leinster honour roll this morning after Coolderry of Offaly upset Oulart-the-Ballagh, condemning the Wexford side to back-to-back defeats in the provincial decider.
Cathal Parlon (1-03) and Damien Murry (0-05) showed the way for Coolderry who led by a single point, 0-06 to 0-05, after a first half in which their opponents hit a disappointing eight wides.
After the break, it was Coolderry who kicked on, following up Parlon’s goal with a pair of points in a fine two-minute blitz.
And although Paul Roche gave Oulart a late lifeline with a goal five minutes from time, it proved to be much too little much too late.
Na Piarsaigh 1-11 Crusheen 0-14 They’ll have do it all again in Munster after a last-minute point from Crusheen’s Pat Vaughan kept the Clare club’s title dreams alive.
Na Piarsaigh found themselves on the back foot for most of the contest and trailed by three at the break, teenager Shane Dowling’s penalty keeping them within touching distance at 0-09 to 1-03.
And while Crusheen continued to score freely from play in the second period, their indiscipline let them down and allowed Dowling to point six frees in total en route to a fine tally of 1-07.
The replay has been fixed for Semple Stadium this Sunday, 4 December, at 2pm.
