Inked in: 10 great, and not so great, Irish sports tattoos

Some of these are cool, some are terrifying.

TO CELEBRATE LOSING the Super Bowl this month, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kapernick added to his already extensive tattoo collection.

Kapernick, who was subject to some ridiculous criticism of his ink late last year, had the tribal tattoo done last week and took to Instagram to show his legion of fans the result.

It’s an impressive piece of work and had those of us in the office with a pathological fear of needles shaking in our boots.

It did, however, get us thinking about some of our favourite – and least favourite – Irish sporting tattoos:
