Ireland's Natalya Coyle has officially qualified for the Rio Olympics

The 25-year-old previously competed in the London 2012 Olympics.

NATALYA COYLE’S PLACE at the 2016 Rio Olympics has been confirmed, Pentathlon Ireland announced today.

Reacting to the news, the modern penathlete wrote on Twitter: “It’s official!! I’ve qualified for the Olympics!! Over the moon.”

It’s been an excellent year already for Coyle who, along with fellow Irish star Arthur Lanigan O’Keeffe, put in a brilliant performance to claim mixed relay gold at the Modern Pentathlon World Cup in Florida last month.

The 25-year-old previously competed at the London 2012 Olympics, where she put in an impressive performance to finish in ninth place.
