Ken Doherty roared back from 3-0 down to advance to round 3 at the UK Championship

Doherty was able to erase the deficit and defeat Michael White.

IT HAS BEEN a good couple of days for Irish snooker.

First, David Morris of Kilkenny knocked world champion Mark Selby out of the UK Championship and today Ken Doherty joined Morris in the round of 32 after an impressive comeback win.

Doherty was trailing Michael White 3-0 in their first to six frames match before completely turning things around to win 6-4.

Doherty is currently ranked 40 in the world and will face eight-ranked Ricky Walden in the next round.

Morris will face David Gilbert in his round of 32 match. Doherty has reaced the final of the UK Championship on three occasions and lost each time. He was defeated by Stephen Hendry in 1994, Ronnie O’Sullivan in 2001 and Mark Williams in 2002.
